The Zeus botnet

steals personal information by infecting computers and capturing data entered into internet banking sites, including passwords. Currently, the program has evolved more, and can produce 700 variants every day, including mobile capabilities.[1]

The Zeus botnet was detected in 2007. The FBI announced arrests in October 2010, and the source code was published in May 2011. The FBI announced that the malware enabled hackers to steal around $70 million from hacking into U.S. computers.[2]
