Working Group 7 Botnet Remediation (WG7) was established by the Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (CSRIC III) to address botnet remediation in broadband networks. Members of WG7 include representatives from ISPs, suppliers of software and network equipment, academia, as well as other organizations that are a part of the Internet ecosystem.
WG7 investigated work on bot remediation that was taking place in the IETF, Japan, Australia, Finland, Germany, and elsewhere to determine the best approach to address the bot threat in United States' broadband networks.
The result of this work is the voluntary U.S. Anti-Bot Code of Conduct (ABCs) for Internet Service Providers (ISPs). This is the first of three report deliverables for Working Group 7.
