"Wireless NANs are flexible packet switched networks whose geographical coverage area could be anywhere from the coverage are of a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), to wireless metropolitan area network (WMAN), to Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN). In Smart Grid, WNAN has a role to play in the HOME‐to‐HOME or HOME‐to‐GRID communication."[2]
