The Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) is a seamless electronic medical record shared by the Veterans Administration and U.S. Department of Defense to track each service member from enlistment through retirement. VLER is intended to be a lifetime, personal record that ensures a seamless continuum of care and benefits. VLER leverages the work of CONNECT and the Nationwide Health Information Network in service to military and veteran personnel.
