Overview Edit

The Video Software Dealers Association (VSDA) was formed in 1981 to help video retail stores fight against federal legislation that would have changed the first sale doctrine.

At one time it represented more than 1,000 companies throughout the United States, Canada, and other countries that operated retail outlets that sold and/or rented DVDs, VHS cassettes, and console videogames.

It is now part of the Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA).
