Named after Dutch computer researcher Wim van Eck, Van Eck phreaking is

the process of eavesdropping on the contents of a CRT and LCD display by detecting its electromagnetic emissions. Because of its connection to eavesdropping, the term is also applied to exploiting telephone networks.[1]
