A Validated E-Gov Standard is

a private, voluntary or U.S. government-developed standard developed and adopted via a widely recognized and broadly accepted process. These standards have been validated for use by NIST. The E-Gov standard validation process and validated standards can be located at the NIST E-Gov Standards Resource Center.[1]
