The U.S. Coordinator for International Intellectual Property Enforcement was created by Congress to lead NIPLECC in carrying out its function. The staff of the Coordinator’s office is composed of employees or detailees from a number of NIPLECC agencies.
The Coordinator’s Office:
- Executes on key elements of the U.S.-EU and G8 intellectual property action strategies.
- Enhances coordination of U.S. IP training and capacity-building programs, building upon the work of the IPR Training Coordination Group.
- Works with the private sector to maximize government support for industry-led IP enforcement activities and to build a better understanding of technological approaches being deployed to protect IP.
- Supports development of an expanded repository of information on global IP enforcement actions.
