A trade secret owner is any "person or entity in whom or in which rightful legal or equitable title to, or license in, the trade secret is reposed."[1]

Person is defined by the Uniform Trade Secrets Act as:

a natural person, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, association, joint venture, government, governmental subdivision or agency, or any other legal or commercial entity.

If multiple persons derive economic benefit from the same trade secret, it is possible that there will be multiple trade secret owners.
