This document set forth a series of principles developed out of two days of discussions at a November 2001 roundtable titled, The Information Commons, New Technology, and the Future of Libraries, sponsored by the American Library Association's Office for Information Technology Policy (OITP). The principles were intended as discussion points to be used in the ongoing development of the information commons.
