Overview Edit

This White Paper presents the results of joint research by National University of Singapore and IDC of the prevalence of malicious code (malware) found in pirated software and in PCs purchased through distribution channels. It also looks at the link between the detected malware and criminal organizations, for which malware in pirated software can be a lucrative vector for cyberattacks. This study provides an economic analysis of the costs associated with malware on pirated software.
