Overview Edit

Individuals in the U.K. have the right to refuse unsolicited marketing messages through fax, phone, email and text messages. Individuals and organizations can register with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) if they do not want to receive unsolicited marketing calls.

The TPS is the official central opt-out register on which U.K. individuals can record their preference not to receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls. It is a legal requirement that all organisations (including charities, voluntary organisations and political parties) do not make such calls to numbers registered on the TPS unless the recipient have given consent for such calls.
