Overview Edit

The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE), operated by Department of Homeland Security (DHS), verifies the information in documents that non-citizen applicants provide to prove they have lawful status in the United States. Lawful status documents include, for example, a Permanent Resident Card.

As of 2012, licensing agencies in 42 states plus the District of Columbia had agreements with DHS to use it.
