Department of Homeland Security Edit

A system is

[a]ny combination of facilities, equipment, personnel, procedures, and communications integrated for a specific purpose.[1]

NIST Edit

A system is

a complex of software, hardware, and human resources that jointly accomplishes one or more business functions. A system may be pre-designed or arise ad hoc by action of one or more of the participating human or software resources.[2]

Technology Edit

a group of devices or objects forming a network especially for distributing something or serving a common purpose (e.g. telephone, data processing systems).[3]
