Definitions Edit

Structured data refers to

sources, which represent a collection of records stored in a computer in a systematic way, with each record organized in a definitive schema, describing the objects that are represented in the database and the relationships among them.[1]
data that is identifiable and organized in a structured way. The most common form of structured data is a database where specific information is stored based on a methodology of columns and rows. Structured data is machine readable and also efficiently organised for human readers.[2]

Overview Edit

"Structured data is traditionally stored in data warehouses and is extracted and manipulated using Structured Query Language or SQL. Using these technologies to pilot and explore the feasibility of projects may be worthwhile even where this requires different data schemas to be established."[3]
