A Small Unmmanned Aircraft (SUA) is

A Small Unmanned Aircraft (SUA) is "an unmanned aircraft weighing less than 55 pounds."[3]
Overview[]
"The FAA proposes to interpret the statutory definition of small unmanned aircraft as referring to total weight at the time of takeoff because heavier aircraft generally pose greater amounts of public risk in the event of an accident. In the event of a crash, a heavier aircraft can do more damage to people and property on the ground."[4]
