Overview Edit

The Directive established policies and procedures for the security of classified intelligence processed, communicated, or stored in automated information systems (AISs) and networks. This directive applied to all U.S. Government organizations, their commercial contractors, and Allied governments that utilize AISs and networks to process, store, and transmit U.S. foreign intelligence and counterintelligence information that has been classified pursuant to Executive Order 12356 (or successor order).
