Definition Edit

With regard to physical computer media (such as floppy disks, CDs, and hard disks), secure disposal is a procedure that ensures that data is truly erased or that the media has been destroyed to the point of being unreadable. Secure disposal of non-electronic records would involve shredding or some other similar procedure.
