Secondary data is

personal data not knowingly disclosed by a user, but is personal data disclosed by using the network itself — data such as time and length of the connections, location (IP address) of the connection, what other users' profiles were visited, what messages were sent and received and so forth.
[d]ata originally collected for one purpose (e.g., program administration) and then analyzed for a different purpose (usually research or evaluation).[1]
