A seal is

an emblem, voluntarily displayed on a website, which signifies that the site has met specified privacy criteria.
[a] cryptographic checkvalue that supports integrity but does not protect against forgery by the recipient (i.e., it does not provide non-repudiation).[1]


To seal is "to associate a seal with a specified part of a document."[2]
