Definition Edit

SMiShing (a portmanteau of SMS (Short Message Service) and phishing (the practice of deceptively collecting login and account information)) refers to a phishing attack that uses SMS messages to dupe cellphone users into going to a website and revealing their personal data. The messages typically say that unless the user goes to the website and cancels, they will be charged for services that they never actually ordered.
