National Academy of Public Administration, Rebooting the Government Printing Office: Keeping America Informed in the Digital Age (Jan. 2013) (full-text).
Congress mandated that the National Academy of Public Administration conduct a broad operational review of the GPO. The Academy formed a five-member Panel of Fellows to conduct a ten-month study of the agency's current role, its operations, and its future direction. The Panel concluded that GPO's core mission remains valid, but that the agency — and the rest of the federal government — will need to continue to "reboot" for the digital age. The Panel's recommendations are intended to position the federal government for the digital age, strengthen GPO's business model, and further GPO's continuing transformation.
