The Public Health Informatics Institute, located in Decatur, Georgia, is a program of the Task Force for Global Health, a nonprofit organization. The institute brings together public health professionals to facilitate their understanding of information needs and to define solutions for their informatics challenges. The Institute is intended to provide the U.S. with integrated public health information systems to support activities such as disease detection, tracking, outbreak management, and exchange of laboratory information.
