Overview Edit

On July 19, 2012, the California Attorney General established a new Privacy Enforcement and Protection Unit within the state's eCrime Unit of the California Department of Justice. The new unit has the mission of protecting the inalienable right to privacy conferred by the California Constitution. The Privacy Unit enforces state and federal privacy laws, and develops programs to educate consumers and businesses on privacy rights and best practices.
