Privacy-enhanced mail (also privacy-enhanced electronic mail) is

[a]n Internet standard for secure electronic mail. The standard adds several security services to the Internet electronic mail messages: message origin authentication; message integrity; nonrepudiation of origin; and message confidentiality.[1]
