Definition Edit

Pixels per inch (PPI) is commonly used in describing the resolution capabilities of an imaging device such as a scanner or the resolution of a digital image. The higher the PPI, the more information is included in the image, and the larger the file size.

Overview Edit

The terms DPI (dots per inch) and PPI are used somewhat interchangeably.
