Overview Edit

On March 23, 2010, the President signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, later amended by the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 (collectively, the Affordable Care Act), which, among other things, is estimated to expand health care coverage to 32 million currently uninsured Americans by 2019. The Affordable Care Act builds on the HITECH Act and recognizes health IT as a critical enabler to broad transformations in health care.[1]
