Definition Edit

A PKI user is an organization or individual that use the PKI, but does not issue certificates.

Overview Edit

They rely on the other components of the PKI to obtain certificates, and to verify the certificates of other entities that they do business with. End entities include the relying party, who relies on the certificate to know, with certainty, the public key of another entity; and the certificate holder, that is issued a certificate and can sign digital documents. An individual or organization may be both a relying party and a certificate holder for various applications.
