Overview Edit

The Open Government Initiative Privacy and Security Working Group is an interagency group of the U.S. federal government led by the National Security Staff, for systematically reviewing whether any privacy and confidentiality laws, rules, or policies may permit or limit public disclosure of such previously collected data, and to help determine appropriate controls to mitigate that risk and protect privacy and confidentiality (e.g., limiting access, removing identifiers, suppression, rounding, swapping and blurring of microdata), before agencies begin compiling and structuring their data for such release.
