Overview[]

The Open Government Declaration is a statement by the Open Government Partnership (OGP). Pursuant to the Declaration, members must commit to the principles enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the U.N. Convention against Corruption, and other applicable international instruments related to human rights and good governance.

To become a member of OGP, participating countries must embrace the Open Government Declaration; deliver a country action plan developed with public consultation; and commit to independent reporting on their progress going forward.
