The Online Computer Library Center (OCLC) is a nonprofit library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing the rate of rise of library costs.

Overview Edit

A major OCLC initiative is the Digital Archive, which provides a centralized, secure storage environment. It provides fee-based digital preservation services, and is presently working with libraries and other organizations in a number of states.
