The Department of Defense's Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer (DCMO):
- Maintains and updates the department's business enterprise architecture (BEA) and enterprise transition plan.
- Ensures that functional priorities and requirements of various defense components, such as the Army and the Defense Logistics Agency, are reflected in the architecture.
- Ensures adoption of department-wide information and process standards as defined in the architecture.
- Serves as the day-to-day management entity of the business transformation effort at the DOD enterprise level.
It is composed of six directorates (Investment and Acquisition Management; Business Integration; Technology, Innovation, and Engineering; Planning and Performance Management; Expeditionary Business Operations; and Operations).
