Overview Edit

The article argues that cyber is "hyped out." Overstating the threat does have benefits (for some); it also comes with significant costs. The benefits are short-lived and easy to spot, whereas the costs are long-term and harder to understand — and they are piling up fast and high. Indeed, the costs are so high that the debate inches toward a turning point for all parties involved.

The authors list 13 reasons why cybersecurity hype is counterproductive.
