The Ninth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, addresses rights of the people that are not specifically enumerated in the Constitution. The amendment states:

The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
