Definition Edit

Netiquette (a concatenation of the words "NETwork" and "etIQUETTE") refers to the customs and socially accepted behavior for users of the Internet — the "etiquette for cyberspace."[1]

Overview Edit

"Netiquette developed as a shared sense of what constituted proper online behavior by the early users of email and other applications. One example that stands out is that one should not type an email in all capital letters since that gives the impression that one was shouting at the reader. The vast majority of users obeyed these unwritten rules in those early days; sadly, it is no longer so."[2]
