Overview Edit

The National Technical Assistance Centre (NTAC) provides a central facility for the complex processing needed to derive intelligence material from lawfully intercepted computer-to-computer communications and from lawfully seized computer data. It runs a twenty-four hour centre operated on behalf of all the law enforcement, security and intelligence agencies. The NTAC will be operated by the National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS) on behalf of the Home Office. The three Agencies will provide the NTAC with both some staff and fund part of its activity, and be fully engaged in its operation as well as customers of its product.
