Overview[]

Established in 2002, the National Plant Diagnostic Network (NPDN) is charged with helping federal, state, local, university, and private laboratories to rapidly detect and identify high-consequence pests and pathogens introduced deliberately or accidentally into commercial and natural ecosystems and report these pests and pathogens to appropriate decision makers and responders.

The NPDN consists of network of five regional hub laboratories that coordinate plant diagnostic activities in 50 states and 2 territories.
