Overview[]

The National Office for Cyberspace (NOC) was proposed by the Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency in its 2008 report Securing Cyberspace for the 44th Presidency. As proposed, the NOC would be within the Executive Office of the President and would oversee a “comprehensive national security strategy for cyberspace.” The Report suggested that the NOC be created by merging the existing National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) and the Joint Interagency Cyber Task Force (JIACTF).
