Overview Edit

The National Intelligence Resources Board (NIRB) was established by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in May 1968 to review all Intelligence Community programs and budgets, and to referee Intelligence Community disputes.

The NIRB was composed of the Deputy Director of DIC (DDIC), the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the head of the intelligence department of the U.S. State Department and the Director of the Bureau of Intelligence and Research of the U.S. State Department.

In 1970, the NIRB was merged into the Intelligence Resources Advisory Committee (IRAC).
