On April 7, 2009 the Australian government announced that it was seeking views on options for reforming the existing telecommunications regime to make it work more effectively, particularly during the transition to the National Broadband Network.
A discussion paper was released inviting comment from interested parties on June 3, 2009. This discussion paper, outlined various reform options that the Government is considering to reform the telecommunications regulatory framework.
