Overview Edit

The National Agriculture Pest Information System is a database for collection, summarization, and standardized information on plant pests such as insects, diseases, weeds, and nematodes. Data are gathered by each of the states and by USDA’s Plant Protection and Quarantine. Emphasis is given to surveys for exotic pests, pests that may impact export of U.S. agricultural products, as well as pest and biological control agents identified by Plant Protection and Quarantine program officials. The system facilitates data management coordination for the plant pest survey data gathered on a national, regional, and/or state scale as part of the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey program sponsored by USDA.
