Overview[]

The automated information security (AIS) management process covered by this Handbook exemplifies NASA's efforts to assure that scientific missions and business functions are carried out in an accurate, safe, accountable, and efficient manner. This Handbook, in addition to NMI 2410.7, Assuring the Security and Integrity of NASA Automated Information Resources, provides consistent policies, procedures, and guidance to assure that an aggressive and effective AIS program is developed, implemented, and sustained. The provisions of this Handbook apply to all NASA organizations and NASA support contractors. Generally excluded are contractor research facility automated information resources not under direct NASA management control.
