A malicious payload is software carried by a delivery mechanism, such as a Trojan horse, that is generally intended to do harm to a computer system.
Overview[]
Once introduced into a targeted system, the payload sits quietly and does nothing harmful until the right moment when the program activates itself and proceeds to destroy or corrupt data, disable system defenses, or introduce false message traffic.
