Maintenance of information

applies to all forms of information storage. This would include electronic systems, such as databases, and nonelectronic storage systems, such as filing cabinets. To meet access requirements, an organization is not required to create new systems to maintain information or maintain information beyond a time when it no longer serves an organization's purpose.[1]
