Definition Edit

Lithography is a semiconductor manufacturing process in which the desired circuit pattern is projected onto a resist coating that covers the silicon wafer. When the resist is developed, somewhat like an ordinary photograph, portions of the resist can be selectively removed by use of a solvent, thus exposing parts of the wafer for etching and diffusion.
