Overview[]

The International Y2K Cooperation Center (IY2KCC) was created February 1999 under the auspices of the U.N. Ad Hoc Working Group on Informatics, with direct funding provided by the World Bank to

promote increased strategic cooperation and action among governments, peoples, and the private sector to minimize adverse Y2K effects on the global society and economy.

It developed a global reporting system to exchange information on Y2K failures. In early 2000, the Center issued a report titled Y2K: Starting the Century Right!.
