An intelligence survey is

[a]n integrated program, coordinated across all disciplines but executed within each discipline, to systematically task, collect, process, analyze and produce, and disseminate intelligence on a specific threat in order to evaluate and overcome gaps in current baseline intelligence capabilities. The intelligence survey validates and further defines the nature and extent of the gap. This survey results in validating existing databases or changes to the databases, and identifying new threat capabilities.[1]
