The intelligence cycle is a investigation process used by an end user, which allows that user to gather specific information, understand the possibilities of that information, and the limitations of the intelligence process.

The intelligence cycle is the continuous process by which:

  1. intelligence priorities are set,
  2. raw information is collected,
  3. this information is analyzed,
  4. the processed information is disseminated, and
  5. the next set of priorities is determined.
