Definition Edit

An insider attack is an attack by

legitimate users of computer systems who use their knowledge of that system to circumvent computer security protection measures.[1]

Overview Edit

"Insider attacks can affect all components of a computer system. Because of their knowledge of the computer system, an organization's computer security practices, and plausible access requirements, insider attacks can be perpetrated with little personal risk."[2]
