Overview Edit

The Information Technology Innovation Fund (ITIF), an offshoot of the NPR initiative, operated from 1995 to 2000, expiring with the end of the Federal Telecommunications Service 2000 (FTS2000) program. Funded through a 1% set-aside from FTS2000 charges assessed to agencies, the ITIF provided about $30 million for some 70 programs.

Projects were selected by a committee of representatives from the interagency body advising the General Services Administration on the Federal Telecommunications System (the Interagency Management Council for Federal Telecommunications) and another interagency IT group (the Government Interagency Technology Services Board).
